Hurray for Scott Brown! But I don't want him or President Obama in the White House in 2012. Brown is good for Massachusetts but is bad for the Republican party.

I wouldn't go so far as to say he's bad for the Republican party. Far from ideal, particularly on the issue of abortion, and I do hope that we can get to the point where we're electing solid pro-lifers in states like Massachusetts. Consider him the interim step on the path to the truly good.
Paul, you're right, I have to remain optimistic.
I find myself saying there's no hope for places like Massachusetts, which is why it's ok to settle for Brown.
Or why we should view his election as a stepping stone.
I guess I'm fatigued and tired of having to qualify my support of every candidate in every case.
